$40,000 In 40 Days To Build 40 HomesGiving back is very important to my family. We try to do our best to give back locally and have an impact here, but there is also so much need through out the world. We try to do as much as we can and help whenever we are called, but we know we more than often fall way too short. Have you ever wondered “what can I do” or “how can I help people directly who need it?”. We have, and we found something, or it found us, that allows us to help and really does some good. It’s my friend’s 40-40-40 project. Dave Scammell is a very close friend who is very active in the mission field. Dave and his wife Cindy are very active with an organization called The HOPE project, http://hope.thryve.com. This organization recently began working with an organization in Burundi that focuses on peace and reconciliation. They bring people together of different ethnic backgrounds to work side by side in physically rebuilding homes. Not only does this provide unity among the different ethnic groups, it also addresses a practical need of providing homes for the 60% of people whose homes were destroyed during the conflict in Burundi. The goal of the 40-40-40 project that Dave is leading and my wife and I are participating in is to raise $40,000, in 40 days, to build 40 homes in Burundi. My wife and I want to raise $5,000 to build 5 homes. Will you help? Together we can make a difference, not only in the lives of those families in Burundi, but also in the lives of those around us who see what we are doing and ask, why? Can you donate $10? $20, $50, $100 or even more? We can really make a difference and I hope you can help too! If you want to participate, any amount will be greatly appreciated. You can mail your checks to Jamie Birch, 2708 Broadmoore Dr, Hayden ID 83835. Please make your checks payable to The HOPE Project. Donations are tax deductable, so please make checks out to The HOPE Project. You can also donate right now online at http://hope.thryve.com/donate - click on Give a One Time Gift. Note The HOPE Project and Jamie Birch. All funds need to be received by June 22nd. Why June 22nd? Dave is participating in the Iron Man where people spend thousands of dollars and thousand of hours preparing. During these events, Dave has always wondered, what would happen if all these people spent this much money and time helping others like this. The Coeur d’Alene IronMan is on June. How great of a story will it be to say we have 40 homes being built by then? Thanks so much for reading this and God bless! Jamie
